Social Media (and The Case of a Baker.)

Here is an interesting use of Twitter. A baker from a San Francisco neighbourhood had his advertising agency (Poke) install a connection beside his stove that emitted a Tweet each time freshly baked danishes came out of the oven- the Tweet was then received by all the workers in the vicinity to indicate that the danishes were ready. Is this a type of social media?
