Our Kitchen Confidential
We’re serious foodies at RED. Everyone loved Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential, which describes the New York chef’s journey working in the kitchens of some of the top restaurants on the Eastern US coast.
We also enjoyed the portrayal of the lives of restauranteurs in the film “Big Night.”
Another book we liked: Mon dernier repas, which describes what fifty great chefs would choose as their final meal (Martin Picard of Montreal’s Pied de Cochon is in there.) Anthony Bourdain indicated his meal would be Roast Bone Marrow (with parsley and caper salad). We immediately concocted his recipe with succulent results.
Jamie Oliver: In addition to his culinary success, we also appreciate the quality of his productions and his contributions toward educating students and the general public about healthy cooking.
One of our fave libations of this past summer: a glass of fresh cold cider topped with a few frozen blueberries.
